Elizabeth is a Marriage and Family Therapist who has treated adults in private practice since 1981, and during the last twenty years has focused on work with couples and individuals who have problems with intimacy, relationships and sexuality.

Her M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology (Duke University, 1980) concentrated on training in Marriage and Family Therapy, and an inter-systems approach to resolving emotional difficulties remains a cornerstone of her therapeutic approach.

Elizabeth works with both relationships and individuals using an eclectic and systemic approach to resolving emotional difficulties. Additionally, she has trained extensively in related psychotherapeutic models, including: 3 years of Redecision and Gestalt group training at The Southeast Institute, 3 modules toward Gottman therapy certification (Level 3), and Certification in Imago Therapy. She has also studied psychomotor and experiential therapies, counseled patients at Planned Parenthood, and has an interest in sex education and women’s health issues.
